City of Knowledge is the only full time UC (University of California) approved WASC (Western Association of Schools and Colleges) accredited full time preschool -12th grade Islamic school in Southern California. On June 23, 2008 City of Knowledge School was selected for the 2008 Best of Pomona Award in the Private & Parochial Schools category by the U.S. Local Business Association (USLBA).
The school offers the Curriculum set by the Department of Education as a base line and the sky is the limit. All the school courses except for the religious studies are UC approved. The school focuses on honors and AP (Advanced Placement) courses and every year a large number of students pass the AP exams set by the College Board and hence receives college credit.
City of Knowledge students study Arabic and Islamic studies on daily basis and perform Jama'a prayer together every day. The students enjoy a safe nurturing Islamic environment. City of Knowledge offers a rigorous college preparatory curriculum loaded with honors and Advanced Placement (AP) courses.
City of Knowledge offers all the subjects required in the A-G course list set by University of California. City of Knowledge requirement for graduation meets and exceeds the UC requirements in the areas of:
- History
- English
- Mathematics
- Laboratory Science
- Language Other than English
- Visual and Performing arts
- Electives
Advanced Placement Classes
Every year a large number of students pass different AP exams offered by the College Board, hence receive College credit while still in high school. As the graph shows City of Knowledge students have passed AP exams in AP courses like Biology, Chemistry, Environmental Science, English, Literature, Calculus, Statistics, Psychology, Economics, and Physics.

20% of our students received AP Scholar Award
49% of our students passed one or two AP exams
31% of our students didn't pass the AP exams. This is simply because we give an opportunity to all student who want to take the exam. Unlike some schools who limit the AP courses or exams to the top students to insure a high passing rate. We believe that participating in these AP courses and exams gives students a better understanding of college courses and prepare them for college.

College Courses
Furthermore a large number of students enroll in UC/SCU transferrable courses while still in high school. As the graph shows 63% of our students receive a grade of (A) in these college courses while 31% receive a grade of (B).
Almost 100% of our students who are admitted to different UCs satisfy the Entry Level Writing Requirement because they have passed AP English, scored high on SAT or ACT, or have taken UC/CSU transferable English courses while in high school.
